Overview

The Commercial Field Specialist is responsible for supporting goal attainment for our Program team. This technical outreach position includes but is not limited to working with internal and external customers on energy efficiency projects, answering questions, gathering data, completing field assessments on behalf of our client's commercial and industrial customers, working with area contractors and customers on program applications and leading programs with our Program Consultants and Managers. This role is in direct contact with the client’s Account Managers and program participants.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure success of services and assistance provided to internal teams
  • Maintain and build relationships with commercial and industrial business owners and contractors
  • Provide field-based technical support to commercial and industrial customers to identify, quantify and implement energy efficiency projects
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business customer base in the territory assigned
  • Organize information in several different formats, including written documents, spreadsheets, databases, process flow diagrams, etc.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of multiple participant applications
  • Research industry trends and program performance data where appropriate to identify areas of CLEAResult to improve program performance or offer new program opportunities
  • Perform in-field audits and/or assessments, including but not limited to the following facilities: grocery, convenience store, drug store
  • Be highly detailed and independent in exercising judgment for matters concerning project execution, data storage, and data organization
  • Own responsibility for making decisions regarding project strategies, workflow, timeline commitments, and prioritizing work
  • Must be able to act as a 3rd party facilitator between customers and contractors while highlighting the benefits and incentives of energy efficiency
  • Work directly with the client’s Account Managers to help the customer(s) work through their energy efficiency opportunities
  • Identify and implement strategies improving department services, systems and policies
  • Meet program goals and deliverables
  • Identify, escalate issues or areas of concern for project or department performance to the appropriate managers or supervisors, and develop and implement strategies to address those issues or areas of concern
  • Demonstrate understanding of CLEAResult program designs, workflows, and strategies
  • Plan, coordinate, and follow through on tasks and assignments to complete in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering field preferred
  • Experience working with decision makers and on-site staff from grocery, convenience or drug store facilities preferred
  • Experience with refrigeration technology preferred
  • Experience working with commercial and industrial customers on energy related topics preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with data tracking systems, CRM or similar preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting problems, finding and implementing solutions
  • Requires the ability to conduct detailed technical analysis of energy consuming systems
  • Requires up to 60% domestic travel
